On March 13, construction commenced at Jianglong Shipbuilding on two marine patrol vessels specifically designed for the Xiangshan Jiushan Archipelago National Nature Reserve. This project marks the first time the reserve has commissioned custom-built professional patrol ships, aiming to enhance biodiversity protection and research through technological advancements.

The two vessels, integral to the reserve’s enforcement and research efforts, are expected to significantly improve rapid response capabilities to issues such as illegal fishing and marine pollution. Jianglong Shipbuilding is committed to embodying meticulous craftsmanship, transforming these ships into mobile maritime workstations that integrate ecological patrols, scientific monitoring, and emergency rescue functions, thereby contributing Chinese expertise to global marine conservation.

The specifications of the vessels are as follows:

200-ton-class patrol vessel: Measuring 43.5 meters in length, 6.5 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in depth, this steel-aluminum composite structure features twin engines and twin propellers, with a design speed of 22 knots. It is primarily intended for the management and protection of marine resources and coastlines in offshore areas.

100-ton-class patrol vessel: Measuring 35 meters in length, 6 meters in width, and 3.2 meters in depth, this vessel also utilizes a steel-aluminum composite structure with twin engines and twin propellers, designed for a speed of 18 knots. Its main operational area includes the waters surrounding Xiangshan and Jiushan Island.

Both vessels are equipped with advanced systems such as electro-optical evidence collection, video surveillance, remote conferencing, and scientific monitoring, ensuring comprehensive support for their designated missions.
